After staying firmly glued to Ebony for most of her life, 2015 seems to be the year we're finally getting our independence from each other (but only sometimes, obviously, she's not allowed to move out just yet). She had her first sleepover in January, spending the night at my parents' where I'm told she didn't cry for me once.
In a couple of weeks, I'll be heading off to Amsterdam with some friends and leaving Ebony in Laurie's very capable (apart from when it comes to selecting appropriate attire) hands for a couple of nights. I'm excited about this mini holiday, and can't wait to enjoy the luxury of a child-free hangover, as well as child-free cafe trips, and adult-speed walks around the city. Sigh.
I've been to Amsterdam twice before, but in my younger, blurrier and much drunker days so would struggle to remember bar names or any such details. If you've been to Amsterdam recently, I would love if you could share recommendations of places to check out? We're staying somewhere in the vicinity of Dam Square, but I'm sure will be exploring the whole city throughout the stay. So, what bars do we need to call into, and is there anything else on your must see list?
